Vauxhall chairman 'frustrated' as club fights relegation

MOTORS' Chairman Alan Bartlam is currently a frustrated man as Vauxhall lie perilously close to the relegation zone.

He said: "I cannot believe that with the quality of the squad we have at the club, we are fighting against relegation.

"We ought to be in a comfortable league position, but tables don't lie.

"All too often we seem to have worked our socks off to deservedly take the lead in games but don't push on and put the victory to bed.

"We then finish up either sharing the points or worse still losing altogether.

"I believe we are entering a very critical part of the season with four winnable matches this month, starting with Saturday's home fixture against Hinckley United.

"This is a match we need to win and I would ask the footballing folk of the area to come down and give us the support and encouragement we need to achieve those three points."

"We know it won't be easy, especially as we have a number of players under suspension for this match, but I remain confident we can pull ourselves away from the lower reaches of this highly competitive division with the squad of players we do have at our disposal."

Motors' game against Eastwood Town was called off on Saturday due to a frozen pitch at Coronation Park.

This has been rearranged for Tuesday, March, 6, with a 7.45pm kick-off.

Next up for Motors is this Saturday, February 11, when they host Hinckley United. Kick-off at Rivacre Park is 3pm.
