Tranmere Rovers' League One campaign continues with 'massive' home game against Hartlepool tonight
9:26am Friday 19th March 2010

TRANMERE Rovers continue their League One campaign at Prenton Park tonight with a game against Hartlepool United.
Les Parry will preside over Rovers' first Friday night game as manager.
It follows his squad’s 0-0 draw with Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon, which earned them a much-needed point.
Looking forward to what match, which starts at 7.45pm, Parry told Globe Sport earlier this week: "Hopefully, with it being a Friday night and people aren't committing the whole day to the game, we'll get a good turnout. It’s a massive game for us.
"If we beat Hartlepool it’s a bigger game than Leeds or Southampton. When the crowd get behind, and I know it's an old cliche, but it is like an extra man. So, hopefully, they'll turn up in their droves and be very vocal."
Rovers currently occupy 20th place on the League One table and have only 11 games until the end of the season.
After tonight, their next league game will be an away against Brghton next Saturday, March 27.
Looking towards the season's remaining games, Parry said: "We know what we need to do and we know what sort of points target we need to be aiming for, because everybody needs at least around 50 points just to be sure.
"I don't want to be going to Stockport on the last day of the season still needing a result. We want to be clear of it before then.
"It would be nice to play Millwall here, second to last, and already be in a safe position."
Rovers are charging £5 admission for 17-22 year olds for tonight's game.
The club’s chief executive Mick Horton said: "We recognise that a lot of young people are keen to come to see live football but cannot always afford to do so.
"We hope this offer will make it more practical for them to come to Prenton Park, enjoy the game and support their local team."
Young people can pay cash on the turnstiles for the Kop, Paddocks and Johnny King Stand with photographic proof of age, or purchase tickets for the main stand of from the ticket office.
