Victory for The Dock in Houlihan's Birkenhead Sunday Football League

THE Dock marched on in the Premier Division with an emphatic 3-1 victory at the expense of Rock.

Even a Mark Head saved penalty couldn't deny the Dock a famous three points.

Mike McGraa, Head and Mike Saunders hit the back of the net.

Queen's Park also enjoyed a great day in front of goal as single strikes from Mike Burke, Rob Courtney, Jay Atherton, Anthony Gardner and Andy Bolton produced a 5-1 away win at Neston Nomads (Ritchie Foulks).

Steve James led the way for his Stirrup Sports and Social side to a 5-0 demolition of Bidston Hotel.

Strikes from Gary Shone, Kevin Upton and the impressive Ricky Shakeshaft completed the rout.

A Clint Evans inspired Heygarth defeated ten men Hoylake 6-1 at Levers.

The Brow won a dramatic penalty shoot-out over Woodchurch in the Veronica Conway Cup 5-4.

Hudson had Woodchurch ahead before the Brow forced extra-time.

Irby Club were victim of a Parkside giant killing in the Houlihans Memorial Cup Third Round.

Devey brothers Paul and Mike had given the Irby hope, but Dave Speedy led his troops to an amazing 3-2 win.

Towers brushed aside a hard working Houlihans Variety Club 6-3 in the Presidents Cup 1st Round.

Dave Rudge slammed home a penalty before finishing superbly for his second. Mike Pickles then got in the act with a sublime double before Sergeant and then Vernon completed the victory.

FC Fender, formerly Armchair, caused a massive shock in the semi final of the Tony Smith trophy against Shore Villa.

Liam Jameson had Fender 2-0 up with a great brace. With only five minutes remaining Adam Lea and Darren Caplin took the tie into extra-time.

The two sides just couldn't find that elusive winner before Fender took the dreaded shoot-out 5-4.

Graeme Evans produced a wonder save to become the Fender hero. In the other semi Mike Brady guided his Wellington side to a 4-1 win against Shaftsbury B.

Lewis McNally hit a superb double before Brady and then Ben Davies completed a great win.

Craig Parry and Neil Callister enabled the Lions to inflict a 2-0 defeat on Oak Tree.

AFC Mississippi won a scrappy relegation battle versus Bushell Athletic 2-1.

John Goodall grabbed both Zippy goals with Neil Wood hitting the reply.

New Ferry Wirral Hotel were left stunned as a Lloyd Ithel inspired Argyll inflicted a 5-3 defeat. Ithel grabbed four with Steve Scallion also hitting the net.

Shaftsbury A secured the three points in a close fought 3-2 win at Saddle Club. Jamie Atkinson got a neat brace before an own goal made sure of the points.

Rangers Breaks came away from Mayfields with a well earned 0-0 draw against Houlihans.

FC Beehive had Evans and Jefferies on target allied by an own goal in a 3-1 triumph over Bebington Legion (Darren Graham).

King's Arms eased their relegation worries with a great 2-0 win against Wavertree Wanderers.

Mark Gibb broke the deadlock with a 30-yard free-kick before Gareth Johnson made sure of the points with a neat finish.

James Knox hammered home a late winner for Comecon as the league leaders defeated Primrose Celtic 1-0.

Halfway Prenton just edged out FC Vaults 2-1 with Ste Mills at the double for the Halfway. Gaz Quilliam hit home a Vaults reply.

Tom Broughton grabbed a brace for Neston Athletic, one a belter from all of 30-yards, in an end to end 2-2 draw with Millcroft. Dave McKeown and Ted Mulhearn got the away sides goals.

Vauxhall Youth ran riot against Ashville Colts.

Man of the Match Luke Jones scored four with Liam Sumner (2), Ryan Critchlow and Jack Pickering also on target in a thumping 8-2 win.

Connor Hilton also hit four as he helped Ashville Youth to a 5-0 win at Shaftsbury Youth.

John Skipsey grabbed a customary hat-trick for Victoria Laird Colts in a 5-3 victory over Irby Youth.

Preston and Oaks also found the back of the net. Kieran Watts (2) and Jamie Kealey were at the ready for Irby. Vauxhall Colts enjoyed a 3-2 away success at Newton Youth.
