Reach for the skies with Wirral Star Party

Wirral Country Park is to host an exciting event next month which will give people a chance to stargaze with experts from the Liverpool Astronomical Society.

The "Wirral Star Party" is designed to stimulate interest in the science of astronomy which includes the study of stars, galaxies and planets.

With less light pollution than many more built up areas of Wirral, the park at Thurstaston is an ideal place to survey the sky.

The Star Party will be held at 7.30pm, on Saturday, March 3, at the country park visitor centre, Station Road, and is free to attend.

There will be the chance to use telescopes with guidance from experienced members of the Liverpool Astronomical Society.

The event is part of a regular series of ‘Star Parties’ held by the Society across Merseyside.

Booking is not necessary, however anyone planning to attend should wear suitable clothing and footwear for the night-time event.

Tea and coffee will be available, parking is free at the visitor centre.
