Pair face magistrates over Birkenhead Wine Lodge death
3:57pm Wednesday 22nd February 2012

TWO men have appeared before magistrates in connection with the death of a Wirral man.
Kenneth Wylde, 32, from Birkenhead, suffered serious head injuries after he was assaulted at the Wine Lodge in Charing Cross on February 10.
He was taken in a critical condition to hospital, where he died a week later on Friday, February 17.
John Burns, 32, of Aldford Close, Birkenhead, was charged with manslaughter while Tony Clark, 36, of Old Chester Road, Birkenhead, is alleged to have conspired to pervert the course of justice.
Magistrates granted them conditional bail but the pair remain in custody pending the outcome of an appeal by the Crown Prosecution Service against that decision.
A ruling will be made by a Crown Court judge on Friday.
