Cancer Research UK needs you for this year's Wirral Race For Life
8:00am Saturday 20th March 2010

THE organisers of this year's Wirral Race For Life are urging more women to take part.
So far, more than 1200 women have signed up for this year's fundraiser, in aid of Cancer Research UK.
At the moment, 1200 women are preparing for the 5k race, which will be held in Birkenhead Park on Sunday, July 4, starting at 11am.
And 217 have put their names on the list for the 10k event, which will take place in the same venue at 2pm.
With four months to go, there is still time to register and do your bit to help raise funds for research into the disease.
Race For Life spokesman Paula Jones said: "The number of women that have already signed up to take part is about normal for this stage of the application process.
"The weather's getting warmer and, hopefully this will encorage more women to take part.
"This year Cancer Research UK's Race for Life is going to be full of amazing moments for everyone - from lining up at the start, side-by-side with thousands of other women, to reading the inspirational 'back-signs' worn by participants to the fantastic sense of achievement from crossing the finish line.
"Race for Life in Wirral has an unforgettable atmosphere with local women of all ages, shapes, sizes and fitness abilities coming together to make a positive difference to the lives of people touched by cancer."
